Thread: Fly fishing Myrtle

  1. Default Fly fishing Myrtle

Hello all, This year in March/June I'll be heading back to Myrtle. For the past few years, despite reading that surf fishing is horrible in Myrtle, I've landed some beauties just half a mile away from the Apache pier at Kingston Plantation. This was using a spin rod/weights/fish bites.
My question: I want to start fly fishing the surf the Myrtle like I do on the Outer Banks. Anyone have any luck? Thinking about using Clousers and some surface poppers. How is Hog inlet as a fishing spot? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

    mike

Try driving 30 mins north or south of myrtle. Myrtle beach is not a place for fishing of any type unfortunately.. find Murrels Inlet, it is a place close to myrtle that is not as populated

Couldn't agree more. Murrells' Inlet or Garden City would be a better bet.
