I catch lots of gills in ponds and local lakes. What I have learned about the bigger ones: 1) They stick together, if you catch a tiny one move and keep looking. 2) They can see your large tippet, try 6X min, 7X even better. 3) They will come up from deep water to hit a popper if you can wait long enough. Most people I fish with cast way to much, when in fact it's a waiting game.
