Just got home from a great trip. Backpacked in to a Wild designated stream in Western NC. The fish cooperated, the company and food was outstanding not sure what could have made it better! Although last night there was a thunderstorm that shook the world and rained sheets, lay in my hammock and counted seconds between flash to bang, one was instantaneous and I wondered if electricity could run down hammock suspension. LOL

Fly of choice was a yellow stimi/yellow sally type fly that I tied on a TMC200r size 12. I pulled an NC grandslam everyday but didn't take any pics of the rainbows dad burnit! Anywho here are some pics.

Don't judge, this guy has about 50 fish on it. :D

Sounds like an awesome trip, nothing better than a grand slam! I think you may be onto something....these damn crazy trout know that us stupid fisherman will crawl on our hands and knees through waist deep water under rhodadendrun just to try to tempt them?

Hope they stay hot, they were slamming dries the last couple of days. I did not catch anything really big, those two browns were the best of the trip but I made up for it in volume. I was surprised at the brooks they are not normally that low in this stream.

Great report and beautiful fish.Glad to hear you had a good time despite the storm.
That same storm hit us before it got to you and the lightning and hail were pretty intense.Your tent is still hanging so you must not have got the wind with it.

Man that supper looks delicious Chris!
Seems like the all the brookies I catch have been in the lower sections of streams lately.

Chris

Thanks for sharing that great trip report with all those photos! Those Brookies sure are beautiful, I'll take one over a brown any day, congrats!

We had one heck of a thunderstorm roll there here last night as well, I was thankful to be inside, some of those lightning flashes were something else.
