For anyone contemplating going to the Smokies this spring and summer, be aware the Little River trail above the Elkmont ca,pground is slated to be closed. They are demolishing some of the cabins and at this point, access above the campground up Little River trail will be closed.
I am frankly surprised that this will happen, but I will follow up with any updates. I am sure there is going to be a large public outcry as this is a very popular trail and river.
