Kevin and I floated the Watauga River in East Tennessee on Monday. We were test rowing a drift boat that we wanted to buy and needless to say ended up with after the fish we tangled with. Proud owners of a 16ft Koffler Aluminum drift boat now but back to the fishing. It was a cold morning that warmed up into the 40's but the wind was relentless. We each hooked up with quite a few fish. Here's a video of the first fish we brought to the boat. . It wasn't long before Kevin hooked into a good fish of his own. The nymph bite was on for most of the day. Most fish came on #18 scuds and small baetis nymphs. It just doesn't get much better than this for a weekend of fishing.
