Just wondering if this rod (One 6116) is enough rod for year round steelhead fishing in the great lakes area (mostly lake Ontario)?

Looking at getting in the switch/spey world!! Lol

It would do fine, a 7 would be my idea of the perfect size for LO. However if you hook into a XXlg Salmo Hold on qand hope you have alot of backing on lol Mike

i'm new to this 2 hand game also and should NOT be giving advice but I was told that a spey / switch rod is equivalent to three sizes up from a single hand rod? if that is true then your 6wt switch rod would be equivalent to a 9wt single hander? I see plenty of other people using 6, 7 and 8wt single handed rods on the great lake tribs.

I just picked up a 7wt 11' T & T my first switch rod and can't wait to try it out!!! Now to just figure out what line to get???
