Recently I had a couple fellows out who were interested in learning how to cast and to work on fishing techniques also. One fellow was without a rod and wanted to try as many as I had so he could decide on a length and weight to buy.
One of the rods I rigged was a nine year old LL Bean Streamlight 13 foot 8 weight. I put a 600 grain Super Skandi on it (47 foot head with integrated runner) and must say it is remarkable considering that I paid $165.99 for it years ago.
Looking for an affordable starter rod and run across one of these I'd say scoop it up.
