Hardy Perfect 3 3/8 or 3 5/8 fly reel

Does anyone use either of these two Hardy Perfect fly reel sizes on their trout spey rods and what size rods or are these too small for these type rods? I was thinking about using either for a 3 or 4 weight rod with some brand running line plus a shooting head if either could work. Thanks for any advise, Barry.

Are we talking the narrow or wide spool version? The wide spool version wouldn't be a problem....

The narrow spool version might be..... you couldn't get much if any backing on at all with these.

I have a Winston-branded 3 3/8 Perfect, so it is wide spool. I have used it with 5 WF and there is more than enough backing. If you want more backing, just use Hatch brand; pricey though.
