New statistics from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game on fishing, hunting and trapping licenses sales shows that resident sport fish licenses dipped 3.3 percent last year -- and are down 7.2 percent since 2005. Just 109,141 Alaskans bought resident fishing licenses in 2008, the fewest since 1999 when the state population was considerably lower.
