Hi corefly,

Welcome to the forum. I think you will find NAFFF is a good place to learn and to share information. It would be great to see some picture of the waters you fish.

Thanks.I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised at our freshwater variety and average size. The species I am very familiar with in our waters are:

rainbow trout
brown trout
catfish
carp
largemouth bass
smallmouth bass
tigerfish
tilapia
and last but not least our indigenous Yellowfish species of which some atain 40 pounds and are mainly targetted in rivers.Very similar to the Mahseer of India. The major river for indigenous species is the VAAL RIVER,and to a lesser extent the ORANGE RIVER.In both these rivers it is not uncommon to catch 50 wild indigenous fish in a day averaging 4pounds with the chance of getting into a nice 10 pounder always there.I would be glad to tell more if the members so wish.
