Thread: My Dad

  1. Default Re: My Dad

My Dad died when I was 10 years old.

My memories of my Dad live on in me forever.

    This was his favorite poem.

    The Old Indian Prayer

Do not stand at my grave and weep...

I am not there, I do not sleep.

    I am a thousand winds that blow;

I am the diamond glint on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awake in the morning hush,

I am the swift uplifting rush

    of encircling birds in flight.

I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep...

I am not there, I do not sleep.

Do not stand there at my grave and cry...

I am not there, I did not die.

    Sorry for your loss

    Sorry for your loss Rip.

Seems he might have intentionally held on long enough not to put his death on a holiday. Makes me think of my grandad who passed on the day after his daughter's (my mom) birthday.

Sounds like another good one lost.

I'd rather hunt fish than bait deer any day.
