  1. Default My band covers "Sultans of Swing"

Sorry I haven't been very active on the board lately. My time has been spent mostly rehearsing with my new band, Seven Bridges Band and putting together a demo cd for booking gigs.
We have just finished and posted on YouTube the first cut of our demo cd, a song called "Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits.
Here is a link to the song. Hope you enjoy it and I hope you are all doing well.

Pretty darn good! Who's the lead vocal?

Sounding good Yat! milt. If you guys do requests, I think you should do "Althea", I'm sure your percussionist would be game.

Had to laugh out loud at the name of the song. Someone who knows what he's talking about gave me that 'Nick-name,' short of the 's' on Sultan. Am I the best caster around? Not by a long shot, but I can get the job 'done.'

Where the 'name' came from was 'he' walking up to a beach (Northern Oregon river) and I was sitting in the river side casting a 2-hander. A 'what the hell?' comment/conversation.

The answer was the fish sit under that low hanging tree so you've got to go in sideways to get under the over hanging limbs. At 90'ish feet that's a task, what ever the rod; with a fly rod .....

While chatting I hooked/landed one and lost a second (root balls are a bad thing). End game was a 'Nick-name.'

Hey Yat, Are you the western-hatted stratocaster player in the video clip? If so, you got it cranked up pretty good on the ending solo. Mark Knopfler would be proud of you guys on that one!

    Sounded great! Keep 'em comin'!

Thanks guys. That's me on the vocals and the guitar. The rest of the songs on the cd are Fleetwood Mac''s "Gold Dust Woman", Cheap Trick's "Surrender", Johnny River's "Secret Agent Man" and Shania Twain's "In It For Love". I'll post em up when they are finished.
Milt. Our conga player loves the Dead, I'll pass along the suggestion.

Great job Yat. Like to hear Gold Dust Woman and Surrender when they are ready, two more of my favorites.
