Books on tape (well now most are on CD's). For long drives they're the Bee's Knees for keeping your mind occupied and your attention focused.

Just trust me on this one.

    David Gilmour The Division Bell

If you haven't gave a listen to any of his new stuff you will recognize his touch but it's also a tad different.

I am celebrating the birthday of Bob Dylan tonight, one night early. My local public radio station has a great free form music program every Friday night. And they have a local volunteer DJ that play Dylan for 6 hours on the closest Friday to his birthday. Six hours of uninterrupted Dylan!

As a long time, deeply involved Bob Dylan listener I love this night. I've been listening in my chair, moved to the garage to bore some cork for a reel seat, and am now in my personal den.

I wish I could post a link but the corporate music man does not let Dylan songs remain on the YouTube very long. But there are some live links randomly, though even favorites from the Rolling Thunder tour are now gone. Bummer.

    Happy birthday Bob.

I am 41 and sort of addicted to the whole singer songwriter genre.
I've got a little Jim Croce and Cat Stevens rolling this morning

Gotta get me some Gordon Lightfoot and Boz Scaggs rolling soon

Have to share the previous night's show as well. This was the first show Brandford Marsalis played with the boys. There's an article about it in the new Rolling Stone and an official release is coming up. This version of Eyes of the World can also be found on Without A Net. I find this version to be exceptional, Brandford's collaboration with Jerry is stellar! Oh, and DARK STAR! Just killer!

At least to my non-musician, purely listening ear, the late 80's and 90's were some of their most refined & polished. Hard to believe it's been almost 20 years. RIP Jerry.
