She's a treasure, for sure. The book is based on that series of posts.

I thought I'd revive this thread, if even just for me.
I just picked up a two volume book by Gierach; Another Lousy Day in Paradise, and Dances With Trout.
I loved the first four of his books I read; Trout Bum, Standing in a River Waiving a Stick, Still Life With Brook Trout, and Sex, Death, and Fly-fishing.
As for non-fishing related books, I like anything by Tami Hoag, James Patterson, and Patricia Cornwell.

I picked up an old book called "Sturly" by Pierre Custot c.1924 the other day at the local used book store. According to the book seller it takes place from the perspective of a sturgeon; Sturly the sturgeon. After reading the first passage it sounds like it may be good, plus i like the smell of old books:

"I DECLARE that this is a book which has no pretensions and that I wrote for those who like to meditate by the sea."

I recently started 'Moby Dick' by Melville. It's kind of about fishing.
