Thread: As a beer, Bud is really bad. But their Advertising is excellent.

I don't know why, but like jaybo41, I drink one Bud and I have a headache.
I freely admit to being an unsophisticated beer drinker (I drink Coors Light). I keep trying to find a better beer that won't give me a headache or a gut bomb (Sierra Nevada doess that to me).
I picked up a couple of bottles of saison beers yesterday because I had that kind of beer in a restaurant and it seemed light and didn't give me a headache or stomache.
I've had blond beers at a couple of brewerys and liked that.
So any suggestions for a lightweight like me would be much appreciated.

I like lots of different beers. My favorites are craft brews but I can always find one I like when craft brews aren't an option. Try Blue Moon. It's a wheat beer, very light but flavorful and not anywhere near as hoppy as Seirra Nevada. Corona would be another suggestion. BTW, Sierra Nevada is one of my favorites. Miller Lite is another good one when craft brews are not an option. Guinness on tap is another favorite.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I've tried all those. One Guinness and I'm ready for a nap. I don't care for the taste of Blue Moon, Corona or Miller Lite. I do like Pacifico on tap.
I'll let you know about the saison after the game today. BTW, I haven't had a beer in a month because of this detox diet I've been on, so I'm sure anything is going to be good right now.
Yesterday I had my first coffee in over a month. It was so good, I could have rubbed it all over my body.

Anchor Steam? That's another one I enjoy. If Coors Light works for you, stick with it. That must be one heckuva detox if you wanted to rub coffee all over yourself lol.

If you like the Pacifico maybe you should try Kokanee, it's a Canadian pale with the flavor of a dark beer without the bitter after taste...My favorite beer and can only get it when up in Montana.

Not a Bud fan either, but man, you have got to hand it to their ad folks, they can flat out make a commercial.

Was in grad school in Knoxville, TN during the world fair there...Clydesdales in residence at the vet school across from my office in the natural resources dept. Awesome creatures.

    Great post, Fred.

It's interesting that I like Coors Light and don't like Bud Light, but in Canada it was the other way around. I think they add more alcohol or something, but I lsort of liked the Bud Light up there and really didn't like the Coors Light.
