Gas is one of our few big exports, world demand is a driving force behind prices.

Costco here is still hanging on $3.85/gallon.

It's The same Old Story User Pays Gasoline which we call Petrol is around $1.47 a litre over here & there's 4.54 litres to our Old Gallon or 8 Pints which is a little more than The US Gallon.
Also as I mentioned before with Natural Gas Millions of Litres are being Exported to China at 25 Cents for 25 years whereas it's around 83 Cents for anyone who runs their Vehicles on it.
It might be cheaper however about 1.5x as much is used.

Only 2 wheel vech's; fairly recent change at that. Last I heard there is only one other State (New Jersey?) that isn't self serve. Here in Oregon the "Urban Legend" on how the no self serve got started is some lady was pumping her gas (gas cap on the passenger side), got back in her car while that was going on ..... and drove off!

Hose is still in the fill tube, pulled the whole pump over and a spark set the whole thing off. Gas Station was burned to the ground.

Next thing was someone in Salem did a 'Ah Ha! What a way to create jobs.'

    Rest is history.

Edit: The price of fuel in Montana really got my attention a year back driving over to Hamilton. The difference in price between Medford and there was in the fifty cents a gallon range. Just don't run low on fuel, the stops can be one hell of a long way apart.
