Thread: Fish beautiful locations

My second edition to the thread. Jaw dropping scenery goes hand-in-hand with fly fishing the Rocky Mountain backcountry. To be able to relive the memories of the Rocky Mountain backcountry through these pictures is a treat. I'm a lucky person to be able to live in America and have absolute freedom to wander through such wild country at little or no cost. We ALL are lucky to have some of the finest public lands in the world. I'm surprised more people don't take advantage of this most special resource.

Lower Marvine Lake - Flat Tops, Colorado

    Arrowhead Lake RMNP

Upper Deep Creek Lake - Popo Agie Wilderness, Wind River Range

Fitzpatrick Wilderness - Wind River Range

trying to look stupid for the camera in the East Fork Basin - Wind River Range

my favorite new "local" spot - Upper Stillwater Reservoir - Flat Tops, Colorado

another shot of the Amphitheater at Trappers Lake - Flat Tops, Colorado

creek loaded with brookies in the Bridger Wilderness - Wind River Range

Sometimes just getting to high lakes is half the fun. Wind River Peak (13192') from an unnamed pass in the Popo Agie Wilderness.

Rocky Mountain National Park is greenback cutthroat heaven!!!

Fish Lake is loaded with small cutts - Lake Plateau, Beartooth Wilderness, Montana

a brook trout creek I fished while on the trail in the Wind River Range

Marvine Creek - Flat Tops Colorado

Saturday Night Fever at Upper Sauerkraut Lake - Wind River Range

Seneca Lake in the Winds is loaded with 10-12" cutthroat

Dreary Lake on the Lake Plateau - Beartooths Wilderness, Montana (I kinda disagree with the name!!!!)

    James Peak Wilderness, Colorado

the lake where I caught my first ever golden trout in the Winds - this is a sacred spot

Ugh... why do you have to go and remind me of how much of the Winds I haven't been to yet? There are some good spots in the Beartooths as well.

Those are some nice goldens. Hope to make it to many of those places. Usually speed past Seneca en route to either Elkhart Park on the way out or somewhere better (less crowded!) on the way in.

We obviously speak the same language, my friend. I've been to the Beartooths. The Lake Plateau is as sublime as it gets.

I have a lead for big brookies close to Fossil Lake that I hope to come true.

    Always exploring.......

    Fabulous Effort!

Those places are there everyday for folks to enjoy...but the effort is only for a few. Kudos.
