Sugar is pretty dang addictive. I'm pretty good about passing it by at the store when I shop and I do and enjoy doing 90 percent of the grocery shopping in the house. Somehow, I messed up and the wife ended up going. She brought back these pumpkin spice cookies. It's like I heard their little voices from the pantry calling my name.

This is funny but honestly important if you live in northern states where you can get hung up in bad weather , i always have a can of cashews in console of truck as well as several ď power bars , gatorade bars to be exact , kind of sucks when they freeze lol .but nonetheless the moment youíre hungry and on the road running from spot to spot on river its great to have that on the go convenient snak to avoid going to store

No candy, but trail mix and granola bars. Oh, and water to wash it down!

None for us in the areas we fish. Bears to the north, east and west along with fines for leaving food of any kind in the vehicle. Locally and to the south, temps to 115 turns food to mush or dries it out so much you wouldn't want to eat it.

Potato chips & crackers are the only food items safe to leave in a vehicle down here, and they never go stale. I keep an ice chest in the truck just in case I stop at the grocery store.

PayDay bars. Mostly peanuts, plenty sugar. PayDays are an excellent substitute for lunch if the fish are doing their thing.

My wife and some other women fishers started us on them. i often go in grocery stores, c-stores, etc. and buy them out, 2 and 3 dozen at a time. The young, poorly paid c store workers look at them oddly probably thinking: damn, how does this old coot smoke these things?

A friend gave my wife a "commissioned" painting: fly rod in the background, PayDay bar in the foreground. It hangs in the living room at our house in West Yellowstone.

Snickers are an acceptable substitute, provided you have a cooler for them. Melted chocky in plastic candy bar wrap is a bit messy even for a fisherman.

I like kit kat and Twix, they always get thrown in my pack, not kept in my truck however. Chocolate provides a huge boost after a half day on the river no where near civilization or especially deer hunting in the cold.

I can be freezing to death and one large kit kat and Iím feeling myself warming like throwing a log on the fire.

Snow storm here today, fall is over, fishing is over, deer hunting next weekend, cold and snow on the ground this year.

Good thing my pockets aren't big enough.

Nice fish! Do you have anymore pictures of it lying in the dirt?
As publicity increases so does the propensity of tripping over yards of mono attached to a Dipsey sinker.
