Finally decided to try tenkara this spring, after a lot of reading I have got it down to 2 rods.I'm looking at the Yamame or the Iwana. I will be fishing Mt.streams, lakes,& rivers. Looking for some words of wisdom from people that fish Tenkara. thanks for your input

Both are great rods. I fish the 12" Iwana most of the time and have managed fish to 3 lbs. At 3 lbs however it pushes this rod to it's limits. If you are doing smaller water and 8" to 14" fish it is a great rod. Lets us know your choice!

The Iwana 12' is the ultimate all round tenkara rod. It is the rod I started with and the one I continue to use most often. For addressing larger fish and larger waters I added the longer Amago.
