You are probably right about the Fly Fishing Trail. But it is still within a very short drive from Murphy.

I fished this river near the hatchery last weekend. One day at 450 and one day at 300. Dang fish weren't moving at all for anything. Talked to a handful of folks and no one caught a thing. It was a couple of nice afternoons either way..

Man, I'd love to have gone to a Fly Fishing Museum! We were on a family vacation for Christmas, from Tulsa OK; from NC to Lubbock TX then to Dallas and back home to Tulsa. Not much time for fishing travels. We booked the cabin with hopes of walking out and fly fishing - nope, not on the part of the river we were on.

However you are correct about the rain. Everything is going to be blown out of the next several days.
Man did it ever blow out!
