Awsome! We are still a few weeks from the water being open. It's generally the second two weeks of April when the ice goes off the the rivers the Pike run here. It might be early this year. Might help make up for the year we had a few back that was so cold they ran under the ice. No Spring run.

Nicely done! I'm days away from chasing pike here too. What type flies do you use to target the pike with in this colder water?

I always throw the same flies, winter or summer, but now i am using a 300 grain full sink and stripping them slow. I tend to use chartreuse flies this time of the year, because our waters a still clear.

It's pike season here as well
They're staging on the sunny river shoals near the brook mouths and 'swamps' where they breed.
Once the spring run-off floods the lowlands they'll move up into the swamps during the high water.
