Rapid City Area

I will be in Rapid City in just a couple of weeks... likely Oct 14 - 16 if plans go as planned. I will surf through this thread over the next week and may have some question, but I suspect much will be answered. Any quick down and dirty info will be appreciated. Any thoughts where to stay, where to eat, must stop by Fly Shops, easy river access in and around the City, recommended spots within an hour one way or the other - that kind of good stuff. I won't be overly pressured for time but also not unlimited either.

My Place Hotel is couple years old, reasonably priced. Every room has full size refrigerator & kitchenette.

Dakota Angler & Outfitter in Rapid is the go to fly shop. They’ll be able to help with locations & what’s hot.

Rapid Creek in town, in and out of Pactola, and Silver City. Don't overlook Spearfish canyon. Spring Creek out of Sheridan lake and through Hill City.
