Thread: Do you Pike?

  1. Default Re: Do you Pike?

I just started chasing pike on a fly this year. I fish for them out of my kayak and it is a blast. Getting towed around by a pike is so much fun.

    Here is my personal best...

    Nice one!
Had one pull me around in my scout float tube earlier in the summer. That one was on a spinning rod though. I seem to have better luck with larger flies and I find it a too strenuous trying to cast them, sitting down so close to the water. I really need to stand while casting for pike. Otherwise I’d do it more like that. It is fun getting towed. Lol

It was pretty windy out on the lake today. Only action I had the whole time was this small pike. Pretty aggressive take though. Broke in the new fly.

I'll be watching this thread closely.

This summer I'll be going to Northern Saskatchewan for Pike.

This will be my first experience with it.

    I can't wait.

There are actually several lakes here in Colorado with pike (some with a bounty on them). Ive only caught one smallish one on accident, but would love to start targeting them more. Most of these lakes are small enough for my one man pontoon which makes it fun as well.
Life is like a box of chocolates...and a river runs through it. Or something like that.
