We're now in the driest 8 month period since 1895, and my rivers are slowing to a warm stagnant crawl. My nearest river is now down below 1 CFS, and another that was too high to fish well last summer is below 10 CFS.

I realized one section that was too fast and deep last summer might work.

An afternoon opened up, and it had been too long since I'd felt a tug. My head and my nerves needed a break.

Prehydration-

Clouds sitting on a glass plate as far as the eye could see-

Meskins don't mind the heat-

Still gorgeous country-

This run was 5' deep last summer and produced one of my best bass of the year. Now small channel cats rule the roost-

Caught mostly sunfish, but so what-

A drought in a river basin is a challenge.

A drought in fishing time is maddening.

Hey, if I could I'd send you some of ours. South Fork of the Snake River is running near 24,000 cfs (no typo) and is blown out for everyone who likes to fish it. It has also been running the color of chocolate milk since runoff began months ago. No end in sight...

Sorry for the lack of fishable waters.:icon_cry:

Kelly.
