    Default Little Fly-Decent size fish

Sometimes using some flies will produce pretty decent size Bass. Caught this guy using a Royal Wuff not sure. But it was a nice surprised he ripped out 20ft of line was a blast using a 4-lb line

Nicely done! I know in early season when the water's still below 40ºF you can lay a lickin' on the smallies with chironomids and bloodworm patterns off deep humps. Pretty funny to catch such a predator on a tiny little midge. lol

They're a blast when they're taking mayflies on the surface! I had a day where we were fishing dry flies in open water over 40ft of water. The smallies were cruising looking for spent mayflies and we were having a blast with the dries!

Always cool how the big LMs will get on a little bug kick. Sometimes fishing nymphs for panfish the LMs will just start hammering the nymphs. And usually if there is any type of hatch that day you'll be able to get them on drys. Seems like before and during the spawn smaller stuff is the meal ticket.

I figure it's like when your laying on the couch and the bag of chips with a few left is sitting right there on the coffee table. You could get up and make a sandwich or throw a pizza in the oven, but all you really need is a little snack.

    Nice fish.
Is that a LMB or a Spotted? The LMB around here don't have the lateral line markings all the way down to the tail.

Little flies might work, but there's a very good reason why the adage says ""big fly, big fish"
Or as some more recently said, "when they're eating peas, throw 'em a Snickers Bar"

One of my first bass this year took a #20 zebra midge. I was trying to shake off the skunk by going for a bluegill or two at the time.
