Everything changes for warm water fish at the onset of ice. The same nymphs and scuds that work on trout catch these fish worked on or near the bottom at a crawl. Dull colored streamers seem to have an edge although sometimes small gaugy streamers are deadly! The two most productive flys are a black bead head leech and a pink scud.
We had rain the other day and a melt down. Yesterday and today caught Pickeral on #8 Mickey Finns like it was spring ice out! I'll try to post pics soon!
