    Guess they have expensive tastes.

    Nice bass!

Long time back, but think not much has changed. Was surprised how many Golf Courses (cooler climes) stock Rainbows in their water hazards. Mis-KEET-OO control. Remember the first time I was invited to fish in the Hazards (very late afternoon) and 'stay off the fairways.'

It was 45 minutes of total bonkers!

I have never personally fished a golf course but I saw a 7#+ LMB taken out of a golf course pond by an owners son-inlaw. In east central Indiana that is a huge bass. It was not, however, taken on a fly.

I fish golf course ponds quite regularly for largemouth bass; my personal record is a 6 lb bass. I have also hooked channel catfish in these ponds on a fly.

My avatar is one of the bass caught on a golf course pond.

I use surface poppers in the summer/early Fall and deceivers/streamers during other seasons. A lot depends on the amount of plant growth in the ponds which limits the use of streamers in the summer.

    I live in Southern California.

That's what happens when they live on a golf course.

One of the joys in my life is visiting my 82 year old father, playing nine holes with him, and then hitting the pond. It's your typical bass and panfish pond, but the fish are nice and few fish it. Inevitably, we end up frying the fish for lunch.

Golf course ponds can be great.
