No, they are a seperate species; Macquaria novemaculeata. They get to 2.5 pounds or so, not sure what the record is. They are a brackish water fish like the Baramundi. Thanks Wikipedia! :D

They look like a cross between a Largemouth and a Snook to me. Cool fish though. :thumbsup:

They are a cousin of the baramundi. Need saltish water to breed.
The wild fish are my passion.
We have them stocked in dams and they get very fat and ugly, as they can't breed.
They live in the nastiest snags and weed beds.
Give them an inch and they will bust you big time.
Exsplosive surface strikes........Looove them.
