Default This boy was fun

Speck I just caught while out fooling around. I caught him on an old 6 weight Shakespeare Fly Rod I got at the Flea Market. He took a Black and Chartreuse Bream Killer about half an hour after dark. He was just a hair over 14 inches qualifying me for my second Florida Big Catch recognition award

Nice Crappie! I'm guessing by the pic it's a White Crappie! Love catching them on the fly ! What you call Specs we call Calicos and they love flys! Congrats on a nice one!

Actually he's a Black Crappie, we don't have White Crappie this far south in Florida, as far as I know we don't have any in Florida but I wouldn't be surprised to find out we have some in North Florida. He was really light and the flash from my phones camera kinda washed him out a bit.

Awesome. I love it when I can get into some crappie on my fly rod. No catch and release, I eat em.
