Gabriel, congrats on getting your feet wet catching LM (or any bass) on the fly. It ain't easy so you are doing great!

Just wait till you discover smallmouth bass. Like giving meth to a pot smoker (no experience just documentaries).

PS. A solo canoe or kayak lets you cover more water...just sayin.

I've only ever caught 1 smallmouth.

Not on the fly though. Its on my list of things to catch.

Funny you mention canoes and kayaks. I loved kayaking but recently bought a skiff for the saltwater.

That means i sold all my kayaks. Actually sold my last one this past week.

Now im learning that i really like freshwater fly fishing. Maybe cause I've had way more success with it than throwing flies in the salt.

I see a small 2person pontoon in my future (gotta convince the old lady.

I like them cause you can stay dry compared to sot kayaks. Don't like sit ins.
