Thread: Best Bass Flies

  1. Default Re: Best Bass Flies

You guys have some killer patterns in here! I'd love to try some of these. I dont have any pictures handy, but I am primarily a SMB fisherman and I rarely use anything other than Wooly Buggers, Clouser Minnows, Sneaky Petes, and simple Cup-Face Poppers.

Here are some of my recent ties. I'm a topwater enthusiast. The popper is my go-to summer fly.

This is a good Minnow imitation, tie it with a red head and olive tail with red flash will catch nice spotted gar, from a size 8 to a 1

I like this in smaller sizes just dont bend the hook to much, I had 100% hook up on the outside of the mouth of bass with this fly. It does real well in moderate cover as long as the points in line. Good in shallow weedy streams or rivers

This is a good fly if all you have to catch are small fish like juvenile largemouth, Guadalupe bass and pan fish. Itíll catch decent size catfish. The 4 bead chain eyes help deflect it from rock snags and weeds. But not my first choice for have weeds.

This past summer it's been these for top water Largmouth and Smallmouth bass.

And similar patterns to this when the top water is not working.
