  1. Default First fish on Fly

Went to lake Arbuckle, Polk, Highlands Co., about 5 miles from my house, and got lucky enough to hook up with 2 LMB's. I was actually setting my sites a little lower and was going for 'gills, but these two obliged and I am very happy they did. Not monsters at all, around a pound or maybe a bit better, but it was really fun, even with all my fumbling as I tried to figure things out. Not good on the strip set yet, old habits, it's hard not to lift the rod to set the hook, and a few other things I will get. All in all my casting was about 30% of spots i picked. I was in my boat drifting across grass and pads. You could'nt throw me out of a boat in Arbuckle any more, and I used to wade it as a kid all the time.
Oh my gear was a TFO, Signature 8.5', 6wt. #8 Missy popper in chartruse. Cheap Cabellas Reel.

Congrats! That is awesome. I'm still waiting for something to be fooled by one of my flies. I love being out there in a river just listening to the wildlife, I sometimes just stop fishing and enjoy everything else.
