caught prolly 50 gills at this pond. hardly any of any size tho. heres the biggest one I got. I believe its a redear sunfish. caught him on a size 16 griffins gnat when I noticed it digging the bottom. don't know if it was gonna spawn as I did see some reds and gills protecting um but we didn't really cast to them or if it was just looking for food.. the gnat actually sunk when I casted to him and it fell right in his face instead of floating like normal. guess it just had to eat it. :wink:

I love flyfishing for gills better than trout! It's all the action that I love.
The trout get fished out quickly. And the summer heat almost dries up the tiny creeks. The Susquehanna is gigantic and the heat only makes wet wading all the better.
