Canada Seine River smallies

I recently returned from a week at Branch's Seine River Lodge near Atikokan, Ontario. Caught a bunch of big smallies on both the black popper and yellow popper. Tons of fun! Biggest was 19.5" and weighed in at nearly 6 pounds. The spawn hadn't started and the water had just warmed enough for them to start taking topwater stuff. Here's a couple pictures.

I spent most of last week about 20 miles west of there and had similar observations - pre-spawn and aggressive on topwater.

Siene River is definitely a destination that I’d like to fish! That whole area of Ontario has an impressive amount of water and fish...
