Matt: That was pretty cool, I didn't realize they had a web cam there, it will be interesting to see what it looks like in the height of summer.

I can almost see big Bows sipping midges in the soft water along the edges.

Some days I wish I still owned my property up there, literally a couple thousand feet from where this web cam is set up.

I just pulled up the webcam. 14 degrees, almost completely dark, and I STILL wanted to be in the picture

I think it's everyone goal to try to get in the picture of these web cams. I know when I see the Google car driving around I try to get into the picture practically endangering everyone around me. Ha Ha Ha.

My time on the RXR Ranch section of the Fork, which I dearly love, was a major disappointment to me this year. During the 4th of July time there were such sparse and scattered PMD emergences that on a few occasions I walked, sat, walked some more and returned to the truck with my fly line dry. NRX#5 screamed at me, "I want to cast, cast", I said no, this is the Fork, we don't cast over fish we don't see. An old bud who lives there explained the Seed Potato Growers Association of Ashton was particularly penurious with water releases over the winter, holding as much back in Island Park reservoir as they could. Very low winter flows rushed down the frozen middle of the river leaving many an ephemerella nymph frozen to death in the gravel substrat.

The 300 pound roasted pig on a spit at the Trouthunter's Independence Day party, on the other hand, was a hit...I rose to that.
