Thread: Uintah stream and lake flies?

  1. Default Uintah stream and lake flies?

    Hello.

Am wondering if there are any Utah fishermen in here counting down the days until the high country is open again? This will be my first year to pack a fly rod next to the ultra-light spinning gear and am looking to put together a small general purpose fly box. Any suggestions?

Adams, ants, Wulff's, Klinkhamer's, Royal Coachman-wet and dry, small wooley buggers. They're not picky. With such a small season, they'll eat just about anything, especially the brookies.

Never thought about that way. Lordy, looking back at the almost month long season last year I bet they would eat just about anything. I suppose the same rule would apply to fly size within reason?

Small to large. One day it could be nothing but Klinks in 18's or RC's in 20's and the next day it could be buggers in 10 and 12's or size 12 hoppers. Also depends on the weather. Vary the colors too.
