Default Green River

Its been a super fishy spring/summer so far this year, but yet it has been a while since I last posted. So with cicadas still out, I figure this is still a worthy report. A little while back me and a friend shot over to the Green when the flows were up to feed the fish with cicadas. Here are some photos...

Watched sections of the boardwalk float down river from time to time...

It was really good fishing...

I hear flows are down now and fish are still up on the big bugs.
Cheers!

Watson: Great trip report, thanks for sharing! What was the flow at when you fished the Green? I saw that they finally have reduced it to the normal summer flow rate, wish I had made it down to see what it looked like at 8,000 CFS, that had to be quite the sight.

Wow, you have my respect! I have no idea what the water really looks like at 8,000 but I can only imagine it would look pretty scary.

Larry,
While it is something to take serious and respect, I honestly feel that it is an easier float when up high like this. All the rocks are under and the rapids are just big rollers.
Now I know not everyone would agree to this, hence the boat wrapped around the trees and the group that spent the night on the river or the unfortunate fellow that lost his life the week before.

But for me and my fishing partner it has always just made for good fishing.

Here is another photo that may give you an idea of just how high the water was and something to gauge it off of next time you are launching.

You can see that the water is just below the water fountain there at the launch and well above where people normally park their boat.

It's defiantly not for the faint of heart!
Cheers,
Watson

Watson: Well said, I'm in that group, I'll stay on shore and wait for the water to recede, 8,000 CFS in that canyon is just too much for me.
